Pit Bull Attack: A Family’s Heartbreaking Loss in Roxbury
A tragic incident unfolded in Roxbury, Massachusetts, when a 73-year-old woman was fatally attacked by her own pit bull. Jeriline Brady-McGinnis, described as having a “heart of gold,” was mauled in her home on a Monday afternoon.
Her husband and two responding police officers also sustained injuries during the attack.
The pit bull, identified as Deuce, turned on Brady-McGinnis and subsequently attacked her husband as he attempted to intervene. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Brady-McGinnis succumbed to her injuries during surgery.
The officers and her husband thankfully suffered only non-life-threatening injuries.
“She’s very close to her animals, almost like children,” said Jean McGuire, a close friend and landlord of Brady-McGinnis. McGuire, a 93-year-old civil rights pioneer, spoke fondly of her friend, likening her to a sister.
“She’s a wonderful person. A very generous, a very loving person. Loved animals,” McGuire shared, emphasizing the deep bond Brady-McGinnis had with her pets.
The pit bull was ultimately euthanized due to “his worsening condition and poor prognosis,” as stated by Boston Animal Control. Meanwhile, the victim’s three other dogs were removed from the residence, a move that brought some relief to concerned neighbors.
The family of Brady-McGinnis expressed their profound loss, stating, “Our mother was a loving and caring mother. She put her children first. … The heart and soul of our family is gone.” Known for her devotion, she even cooked meals for her dogs every evening.
The Boston Police Department’s Homicide Unit is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident.

The four answers offered are nonsense. There is no information regarding the dog’s past. Also, Kitties are not by nature vicious animals. They are made that way by their upbringing and training. However there are other factors to contribute to behavior issues. Stricter regulations for owners? Training for potential owners? Those are non starters for people who wish to turn these dogs of any breed into lethal weapons! Then, just like people these dogs may just go haywire.
