Elderly Wyoming Man Recounts Frightening Night Fighting Armed Intruder

In a recent conversation with the Cowboy State Daily, Wayne Williams, an 85-year-old resident of Riverton, Wyoming, recounted a harrowing event that unfolded at his home late Friday night. According to Williams, he heard an aggressive knocking at his door around 11 p.m., and made the decision to confront the disturbance.

Upon opening the door, Williams was met with an intruder who was evidently not in a rational state of mind. “The guy was obviously irrational,” Williams shared, adding that the man appeared to be under the influence. “He was saying ‘they’ sent him to my house; ‘they’ said he owns my house, and I don’t – crazy, crazy stuff.”

The intruder, significantly taller than Williams, forced his way into the house. Williams, armed with his .380-caliber pistol, attempted to fire a shot in self-defense. However, he had neglected to properly prepare the firearm, resulting in a mere click rather than a shot.

“Go ahead and shoot me,” the intruder allegedly retorted, leaving Williams perplexed about his intentions. “I don’t know if he was trying to commit suicide at my hand or what he was doing,” he expressed.

According to Williams, a struggle ensued between him and the intruder, culminating in a somewhat clumsy fight on the porch. In Williams’ favor, the intruder tripped at the top of the porch steps, taking both of them tumbling down. “So we both fell down the stairs. I was on top of him at that point,” Williams described.

Once they had regained their footing, Williams successfully fired a shot. The intruder, apparently hit in the leg, exclaimed, “I’ve been hit.” Following this, Williams retreated to the safety of his home and promptly called the authorities.

Upon the police’s arrival, Williams noted that their immediate concern seemed to revolve more around him and his firearm than the intruder. Williams complied with the officers, setting his weapon aside. He was asked to come to the police department for an interview but was assured he was not under arrest.

A peculiar detail that Williams discovered upon his return was the disappearance of the holster he had left on his bed during the altercation. The authorities have remained silent regarding this aspect, citing an ongoing investigation.

The report confirmed that the intruder had been hospitalized and was in stable condition. Williams, while physically unscathed, has been grappling with dizziness and vision problems since the incident. “I’m still concerned,” he confessed. “I don’t know if I’ll ever see that guy again. I don’t know if he’ll come back.”

His only error was not killing the intruder. He will probably be sued now and the police were more than useless. Life under Liberal politics is ridiculous.

Why do the so called authorities act the way they do?

Join the USCCA. Call them immediately after 911. Answer no questions except through the lawyer USCCA will provide. That this is happening to an 85 year old in Wyoming, of all states, is ridiculous.
( (Recommend: keep your firearm cocked and locked…and bigger than .380.)
