The New Mexico State Police Department provided further details, stating, “When deputies arrived, Diego walked out of the residence with his hands in the air and was extremely intoxicated.” The authorities took Leyva into custody without any resistance.

Inside the home, deputies discovered the bodies of Leonardo Leyva, 42, Adriana Bencomo, 35, Adrian Leyva, 16, and Alexander Leyva, 14. All had succumbed to gunshot wounds.
