A chilling confrontation took place at a residential home in Avon Park, Florida, when a home intruder met his end after allegedly shooting a woman in the face. The incident, which authorities say happened around 8:30 PM on Thursday, was reported by the Highlands County Sheriff’s Department.

Upon responding to the scene on Joe Hilton Street, police discovered two victims, both aged 69, suffering from severe injuries.

The husband at the scene recounted that the intruder had “used a ruse to gain entry” to their residence under the guise of needing notary services, a profession the wife holds. Once inside, the man reportedly drew a gun and shot the woman in the face.

In response to this brutal act, the husband retaliated, arming himself with a garden knife, roughly seven inches long. He used this blade to defend his wife and himself, resulting in the intruder’s death.

Police have since identified the intruder as 62-year-old Lindsey Glenn.

Sheriff Paul Blackman, during a media briefing, detailed, “Once armed with the knife, he went to work on Mr. Lindsey Glenn. Ultimately, the suspect, Lindsey Glenn, was cut to pieces and was very much deceased by the time deputies could get to him.”

Sheriff Blackman disclosed Glenn’s extensive criminal history, revealing he had served prison time six times after being convicted of twelve different felonies. It is speculated that Glenn targeted the couple, believing there was money to be found due to the wife’s occupation.

Sheriff Blackman praised the husband’s courage and swift action, saying, “I would like to commend the male victim for his bravery and quick action in defending his wife in their home.” He added a note of compassion, “We will pray for his wife that she has a fast and full recovery.”

Following the incident, both the wife and husband were transported to a hospital. The wife remains in stable condition after being admitted to a trauma center, and the husband was treated for his injuries and subsequently released.

Authorities have stated that the investigation into the incident continues.

Avon Park, where the incident occurred, is a small city in lower central Florida. It houses around 10,000 residents and is named after the famous Stratford-upon-Avon in England.

Every person has a legal and moral right to protect himself, and his family against physical harm. Failure of the victem to act would havr caused additional harm or death to him and/or his wife. He did the proper thing.

But then, Amerika is FULL of stupid people, that would make for some good compost. The environment needs our help to stay lush, so that we can grow healthy food for the sane.
