Texas Pizza Deliverer Shoots Alleged Robber: Self-defense or Questionable Encounter?

Late one evening in Texas, an unexpected series of events unfolded when a pizza delivery encounter ended in a fatal shooting. A pizza delivery driver in Yellowstone Boulevard claimed that he was forced to shoot and kill a man who, alongside another individual, attempted to rob him at gunpoint. The circumstances surrounding the event, however, have been called into question by the deceased’s family.

The driver had arrived at a residence to deliver the pizza when he became entangled in an altercation with a customer. Upon police arrival, the delivery man reported that he had been confronted by two men, one of whom was armed. The alleged armed robber was shot, and his accomplice fled the scene.

As Houston Police Department Sgt. Mark Holbrook explained, “We’re not sure how the pizza delivery went so wrong that somebody wound up getting shot. But that is what we’re investigating right now.”

The man who was fatally shot has since been identified by his brother, Ameer White, as 21-year-old Areyeh White. Ameer White has challenged the delivery driver’s story, stating, “They say he was the pizza delivery guy, but we don’t have a receipt that he was buying a pizza. If you were the pizza delivery guy, why did you have a, why were you armed?”

Despite this doubt, Sgt. Holbrook confirmed that the police had verified a pizza delivery did take place that night. “The driver is cooperating and speaking with investigators about this incident. And there were witnesses who saw parts of what happened,” Holbrook detailed. “There was a pizza delivery.”

While the specifics of the incident are under investigation, authorities have yet to confirm whether a firearm was found on the deceased’s body.

Areyeh White had been at his girlfriend’s apartment at the time of the incident, according to his brother. Speaking about the impact of his brother’s death, Ameer White shared, “It most definitely destroyed me. Because he said he was going to be home in 30 minutes. I stayed up for him.”

The Houston police have announced that the final decision on whether charges will be brought against the delivery driver will be left to a grand jury.

In the face of this tragic event and the uncertainties surrounding it, Ameer White expressed his faith and resilience, stating, “Honestly, only God got the last answer and I’m sure he’ll figure it out for us. Just trying to keep myself and my family strong.”

Do you agree with the pizza delivery man's right to carry a firearm for personal safety while working?

Maybe now, these criminals who robbed and assaulted Americans will think twice about doing so!

There’s a couple of reasons that criminals do crime. Without the citizens arming themselves to protect themselves and their families, the thugs saw the unarmed citizens as easy prey and a quick buck.

Secondly, criminals have one main thing in common with their fellow criminals, which is they’re extremely lazy and would rather steal than work!

With this citizens carrying law in Florida, it may change the mind of the criminals to steal, when it now may be them who’s starring down the barrel of a gun!

These low-level Pizza man jackers are armed and robbing and shooting honest delivery drivers over a pizza,The drivers don’t have cash, unless they are tips! I agree totally that they should be armed. These delivery drivers are not driving Brink Trucks with loads of money they are carrying pizza and chicken. They should be able to defend themselves.

Calling for a pizza or other food delivery as a pretext to rob the delivery person is common. One manufacturer of body armor got his start as a pizza delivery driver. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Why was he armed? Seems like that question was answered all by itself.
