Democrat Claims Frame-Up in Journalist’s Murder Amidst Damning Evidence
Former Clark County Public Administrator Robert Telles, 47, made his first appearance before the jury this week regarding the 2022 murder of Las Vegas Review-Journal reporter Jeff German. On Wednesday, Telles expressed his frustration about his imprisonment leading up to the trial and declared, “I want to say, unequivocally, I am innocent, I didn’t kill Mr. German.”
The following day, Telles, a Democrat, suggested that he was being framed for the murder of the journalist whose investigative work was damaging his political career, as reported by the Review-Journal.
German had written extensively about the internal issues within Telles’ office, including allegations of emotional stress, bullying, and favoritism. These reports led to secret videotaping of Telles and a co-worker outside the office.
“Somebody framed me for this, and I believe it’s Compass Realty,” Telles stated.
Telles claimed that Compass Realty was involved in flipping homes of the recently deceased in Clark County for profit, excluding the families of the deceased from the proceeds. He maintained that he was “fighting” Compass Realty and Management over these sales.
Compass Realty, however, responded with a statement to the Review-Journal: “Mr. Telles is a desperate man who has been charged with violently murdering a beloved local journalist. It appears he will do and say anything to escape answering for this charge.”
Telles faces significant challenges in court, as his defense needs to provide convincing explanations for several damning pieces of evidence:
* According to the Associated Press, Telles’ DNA was found beneath German’s fingernails.
* Hundreds of photos of German’s home, along with his identity records, were discovered on Telles’ computer and cellphone, some collected just weeks before the murder.
* Police found bloody scissors, a cut-up straw hat resembling one the suspect wore, and a pair of cut-up tennis shoes that tested positive for blood during a search of Telles’ house.
* An SUV matching the description of one registered to Telles’ wife was seen in German’s neighborhood around the time of the murder.
* Telles’ phone sent no signals on the day of the killing, and there was no location data from the previous month, as noted by KTNV-TV.
German, 69, was found stabbed to death outside his home on September 2, 2022, with seven stab wounds. His body was discovered the following day.
Police released video and images of the suspect carrying a bag and wearing a reflective orange shirt and a broad-brimmed hat as well as images of the suspect’s alleged vehicle, a maroon GMC Yukon Denali.
Former LVMPD Sheriff Joe Lombardo indicated someone had been seen driving the vehicle “suspiciously” around the neighborhood and confirmed the suspect had used it to leave the area. The vehicle depicted was a maroon GMC Yukon Denali.
Assistant Sheriff Dori Koren said that the vehicle was registered to Telles’ wife.
On Sept. 7, police executed a search warrant at the Telles’ home and towed two vehicles, one of which was the Denali.
After police completed their search, Telles returned home dressed in what was appeared to be a white hazmat suit. When police attempted to speak to him, Telles refused to open the door, prompting the dispatch of a LVPD SWAT team.
The tactical team ultimately made the arrest and carted Telles away on a stretcher following an apparent suicide attempt.
Following his arrest, Telles was stripped of his administrator position by court order. In that position, Telles handled the funds of people who died without a will, some of which he is alleged to have mishandled.

Unprovoked NYC Stabbing Spree Sparks Safety Concerns
A shocking series of stabbings unfolded in New York City, leading to the deaths of three individuals. The suspect, identified as 51-year-old Ramon Rivera, has a history of multiple arrests and is currently homeless. His arrest came after a cab driver, who witnessed one of the attacks, notified the authorities.
The victims were simply going about their daily routines when they were attacked without warning. NYPD Chief of Detectives Joe Kenny stated, “Today, we have three innocent New Yorkers, just going about their lives, who were the victim of a terrible, terrible assault.”
The violent spree began at approximately 8:20 a.m. on 19th Street. A 36-year-old man was stabbed in the stomach while standing in front of a construction site. Despite being rushed to Bellevue Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
Just two hours later, another attack occurred on 30th Street near the East River. This time, a 68-year-old man who was fishing was repeatedly stabbed. Unfortunately, he also did not survive, passing away at the same hospital.
The final victim, a 36-year-old woman, was attacked near the United Nations building on East 42nd Street and First Avenue. She was critically injured and taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center, where she later died.
Kenny emphasized the seemingly random nature of these brutal acts, saying, “As of right now, these attacks seemed to be unprovoked. That he just walked up to them and began to attack them with the knives.”
The suspect was apprehended shortly after the third attack. A cab driver, who witnessed the incident, mistakenly thought he was observing a robbery and reported it to the police. Rivera was found with large kitchen knives and blood-stained clothing.
An officer involved in Rivera’s arrest described the scene: “I just heard a commotion. Stepped outside and heard what people were saying and reacted.”
Mayor Eric Adams highlighted systemic issues, describing the incidents as a “clear, clear example of the criminal justice system, mental health system that continues to fail New Yorkers.” The investigation is ongoing, with no additional suspects identified at this time.

Gunfire Strikes Plane at Dallas Airport: Security Concerns Rise
A recent incident at Dallas Love Field has raised significant concerns about aviation security after a bullet struck a Southwest Airlines plane near the cockpit while it was taxiing for takeoff. The unexpected event forced an evacuation of the flight, and authorities are actively searching for the person responsible for the gunfire.
“The fact that it hit so very close to the cockpit seems too much of a coincidence,” noted an airport spokesperson.
Flight 2494, which was preparing for departure to Indianapolis, was hit around 8:30 p.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration. The plane returned to the gate where passengers disembarked, and fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The runway was temporarily closed as police conducted their investigation. An FBI airport liaison agent has been assigned to collaborate with police and federal partners to ensure a thorough investigation.
Shannon and Jamie Lee, who were on the flight with their children, shared their experience. They recalled the pilot announcing a “rattle outside of the plane” and the need to return to the gate for an inspection. Initially, they believed it was a routine mechanical issue.
Shannon Lee expressed surprise upon learning about the gunfire after landing in Indianapolis, saying, “We had no idea that something happened.”
The couple appreciated Southwest’s handling of the situation but felt passengers should have been informed about the shooting before boarding another flight. Jamie Lee remarked, “I was surprised that they had shut the runway, not really knowing if there were potentially other shots being fired.”
The Lees emphasized the importance of allowing passengers to decide on their safety, with Shannon Lee stating, “You have to give people a choice, whether they want to put their safety at risk a second time in one night.”
Southwest Airlines has since apologized to the Lees and offered a voucher for a future flight. The incident has prompted the Lees to reconsider their travel plans until more is known about the investigation and potential safety improvements.
Armen Kurdian, a retired Navy captain, expressed shock at the incident, saying, “Holy cow, somebody just shot a gun, and it hit a commercial aircraft!” He explained that investigators would focus on determining the bullet’s origin and whether the shot was intentional.
The proximity to the cockpit raises questions about whether it was a targeted attack, as Kurdian noted, “The odds of that happening, I think, got to be really, really high.”
Kurdian also highlighted the potential damage a bullet could cause to an aircraft, ranging from minor issues to more severe impacts on critical systems. Despite the backup systems in place, he acknowledged the security vulnerability this incident exposes.
“Did this put an idea into, say, a non-state or a state actor as, ‘Oh, maybe this is something we can do to disrupt air travel’?” Kurdian pondered.
He suggested that airports and agencies should consider enhanced security measures, such as random sweeps and physical barriers, to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Concealed Carrier Defends Against Alleged Threat in Road Rage Incident
A recent road rage incident in Illinois escalated to gunfire when a concealed-carrying motorist felt threatened by an approaching individual. The confrontation unfolded at the intersection of Busey Avenue and Park Street in Urbana, drawing a swift response from local police.
The altercation began as a verbal dispute between a man driving alone and a couple in another vehicle. Tensions rose when the solo driver attempted to distance himself from the pursuing pair by pulling into a hospital emergency room parking lot before exiting onto Park Street.
As the situation intensified, the couple continued their pursuit, stopping their car at Park Street. The female driver armed herself with a baseball bat, while her male passenger approached the lone motorist.
The solo driver, who held a concealed-carry permit, reported that the approaching male appeared to have his hand under his shirt, suggesting he might be armed. In response, the driver drew his legally concealed firearm and fired multiple shots, striking the male passenger.
Following the shooting, the driver promptly called 911 to report the incident. The injured male was transported to a local hospital, where he underwent surgery and was placed in intensive care.
Authorities are actively investigating the incident, and no arrests have been made at this time. The police encourage anyone with information to come forward, offering options for private discussions or anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers.
